Born to eternal life on Sunday, August 27, 2017, age 91 years. Loving sister and best friend of Patricia Carmody. Preceded in death by her parents, James and Elizabeth Carmody. Dear god-mother of Jim Mitchell. Also survived by numerous friends, neighbors and her church family. Jean was a life long member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, attending grammar school there. She was active on various committees and most recently on liturgical planning and the Saturday morning prayer group. She attended high school at St. Marys Academy and went on to college at Marquette University where she received a bachelors degree in English. She later earned a masters degree in Library Science from UW-Madison. She initially taught English at East Troy High School, then became a librarian for the Oak Creek School District from where she retired. She was loved by students and colleagues alike. Jean was a truly gentle soul, caring for all of Gods creatures and lived her life with grace and kindness. She was an avid reader, had a zest for life, enjoyed traveling and was a supporter of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and various other organizations. Visitation on Thursday, August 31, 2017, 10:00-11:00 AM at SACRED HEART OF JESUS CHURCH, 3635 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., St. Francis. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
