Obituary

Janis A. Ebert (nee Kracht)

Born into eternal life on Monday, January 20, 2025, aged 82 years. Beloved wife of Heinz Ebert, married for 56 years. Cherished mother of Erich, Darren, and Thomas (Brenda) Ebert. Dear grandmother of Ben and Eva Hoppe-Ebert. Dearest cousin of Joan Crowe. Further survived by other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Horace and Fern Moffett.

Janis was a music educator, teaching her passion to many students over the years, both in public school and private lessons. Along with teaching music, she was a valued member of the Waukesha Symphony and a lifetime member of Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI), an organization dedicated to supporting the art of music. She loved curling, being an active member of the Kettle Moraine Curling Club for nearly 10 years. Janis was a devoted advocate of the Alzheimer's Association, leading caregiver support groups for 13 years, including the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's in Wenatchee, Washington. Throughout her life with Heinz, Janis treasured their European travels and cruises to various destinations. She was heavily involved in church, most recently Dryden Community Church in Washington state.

Janis led a special life touching many in her journeys. If desired, donations in Janis' honor can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
