Sorensen
Oct 28, 1949 — Aug 25, 2026
Milwaukee, WI
James “Jim” Sorensen passed away on August 25, 2026, at Ascension Hospital in Franklin, leaving behind family, friends, and many who were fortunate to know and love him.
Jim grew up in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and graduated from Wauwatosa West High School in 1967. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973. Following his military service, Jim worked for the Wauwatosa Water Department for many years before retiring.
Jim enjoyed gardening, spending time with his dog, Buddy, and simply “putzing around.” He had a remarkable ability to find a use for just about anything. His creativity, resourcefulness, and appreciation for the simple things in life made him special. Jim also shared a close bond with his father after the passing of his mother, enjoying trips together and spending time visiting him at home.
Jim was the beloved husband of Sharon (nee Frahm); loving stepfather of Michael and Dawn West Dejewski and Paul Dejewski; cherished grandfather of Zachary, Charles, Grant, Decan, Cody, and Caitlin; and great-grandfather of Evelyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russ and Virginia Sorensen. Jim is also survived by his sister, Susan (John) Kohls; brothers, Gerald (Ginger) Sorensen and Donald (Catherine) Sorensen; brother-in-law, Ronald (Veronica) Frahm; and sister-in-law, Sandy Frahm, along with nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Jim will be remembered for his kind heart, resourceful spirit, and the simple joys he found in everyday life.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
