Newman, James F.
Passed away peacefully April 2, 2018 from complications of diabetes, at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (nee Glynn) and Ralph Newman, his brother, Thomas L. (Laurie) Newman, step-son Robert and his nephew, Matthew D. Newman. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, step-children Jerry (Kelly), Todd (Robin), Tamanda and two granddaughters, Lilly "Tulips" and Briella. Jim is further survived by siblings Mary (John) Fisher, Rose (James) Ernst, Kenneth (Jan) Gotz, Dennis (Julie), JoAnn (Daniel) Russler, Ann Marie, Robert (Joan), and Nancy (Terry) Havens and over 50 nieces and nephews.
Jim was a life-long resident of Bay View, Milwaukee, except for the time he served in the United States Army. He was a charter member of the Bay View Sportsman Club and enjoyed his time on its land up North. He played tenor sax in several area bands, especially enjoying jazz and blues. Jim was a Golden Gloves Boxer, and his physicians believed that his fighting spirit kept him going long beyond their expectations. The family would like to especially thank his care team at the VA Hospital here in Milwaukee.
Memorial Visitation WEDNESDAY, April 11, 2018 from 11-1 PM at the Funeral Home. Memorial Service at 1 PM. Committal Service and Military Honors at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove at 3 PM. Memorials for the care of the two granddaughters welcome.
