Born to eternal life on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, age 51 years. Jim was born and raised on Milwaukee's south side, attended St. Alexander Grade School, Thomas More High School and Beloit College. He played on the 1988 State Championship team at Thomas More and continued playing basketball at Beloit College. Jim worked for over 20 years at US Bank in Mutual Fund Administration Department. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Michelle; his loving children Jimmy and Josi. Preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Virginia Matel; and survived by his siblings, Debra (Les) Leanna, Dan (Chris) Matel, Tom (Kathy) Matel, Sue (Mike) Patnaude, Mike (Wendy) Matel and Patti (Andy) Swanson. Brother-in-law of Catherine (Jeremy) Sonnleitner and David (Michelle) Orgas. Also survived by countless nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
