born April 24, 1930 in Stratford, WI, went to his heavenly home to be with his creator, Jesus the Christ on November 12, 2007 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Corrinne, daughter Joan (Brian Gomber) Laessig and son Jay Laessig of Laguna Beach, CA. granddaughter Sara Gruszczynski (fiancé Eric Czysz), brother Don (Lorraine) Laessig of Wakefield, MI and sister Trudy (Brad) Shelgren of Iron River, MI. Further survived by nieces, nephews and Bob Lepkowski a cherished friend. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Rueben and Florence Laessig, sister Patricia Ann and brother Kenneth who was killed as a POW in the Korean War. Jim graduated from Wakefield, MI High School in 1948, served 4 years in the US Air Force during the Korean War, married Corrinne and graduated from Marquette University in 1958. He taught Social Studies for 34 years at Bay View High School and worked for many years in the Security Department of Allen Bradley/ Rockwell Automation. Jim's first duty was to his family.
