Obituary

J. Douglas "Doug" Blair took his last flight February 5th, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his family. Survived by wife Kathy; children Scott (Jane) and Wendy (Brett); grandchildren Jordan (Chris), Jenna (Dee), Blair (Matt), Brooke (Drew) and Jonathan; great grandchildren Halle, Nehemiah, Petra, Juniper, Adina, Morgan and Martin. Brother of the late Dave (Diane) and Deborah. Brother-in-law to Marie (Terry), and the late Frank (Nancy). Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Born September 14th, 1943 in Harvey IL. Doug had a long and fulfilling career in mortgage banking and aviation. He proudly served Wings of Mercy, Coast Guard Auxillary as an Aircraft Commander, 128th ARW Community Council, QB's, Lions and Civitan. He held the world record for "Most take offs and landings in a single day" with close friend Dennis Oliver and received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for 50 years of service in 2020.

Memorial Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with a Memorial Service to follow. Doug will be laid to rest privately. Donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital are appreciated. https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
