Klenke, Irene V. Age 93, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away February 14, 2014 at Hawthorn Glen Senior Living Campus. She was born April 28, 1920 in Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated in 1938 from Bay View High School in Milwaukee. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Franklin. After being a long-time resident of Greendale, she moved to Middletown, OH in 2007. Irene was a mother and homemaker. Preceding her in death were her parents, Friedrich and Amalia (Borger) Barthuli; her husband, Harold Klenke in 2004; and eight siblings. She is survived by one daughter, Judith Scorah-Florence, husband Dale; one son, Robert Klenke, wife Shirley; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Rettig, husband Paul, Jill Cobb, husband Jason, Susan Rodriguez, husband Brad, Scott Klenke, wife Crystal, Allison Klenke and Ellen Florence; seven great grandchildren, Luke Rettig, Natalie and Ryan Cobb, Cole, Tyler and Macy Rodriguez, and Kinsley Klenke; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Peter Sternberg officiating. Interment will be at the Arlington Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, 631 D Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68502-1199.
