Born to Eternal Life on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Noreen (née Biever). Cherished father of Deanne (Markus) Clare and Jolene (Paul) Moore. Proud grandfather of Claudia and Maeve. Dear brother of Patricia (Roger) Kersten, and preceded in death by his sisters Frieda, Elsie, and Clare. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Herbert was a retired Tool and Die repairman at Kearney & Trecker and a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict with the 27th Infantry Regiment (the Wolfhounds) from 1949-1952, earning a Bronze Star. He was also a member of the Milwaukee Chapter of the North American Swiss Alliance. Herbert enjoyed bowling, playing Sheepshead, gardening, and spending time with family and friends, which brought him great joy throughout his life.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:15 AM at St. Alphonsus Parish, 6060 W. Loomis Rd. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM. Interment and military honors will take place at Highland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Alphonsus Parish or Stars and Stripes Honor Flight of Wisconsin are appreciated.
