(nee Ginster) Born To This Life on February 16, 1916. Born To Eternal Life on April 17, 2009. Helen married Howard J. Van Handel on June 22, 1940. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1984. Together they lovingly raised six children; Kathleen Semrau-Van Handel, Kenneth (Florene), Susan (Donald) Burazin-Behlendorf, Mary (Edward) Hurab, Margaret (Donald) Schwartzhoff and Mark (Karen) Van Handel. Further survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Preceded in death by her sister Marie (the late Eugene) Van Handel and brother Richard (the late Hoppe) Ginster. Helen made many friends during her 17 years of employment at Ladish Co. She was known for her feisty personality, sense of humor and desire to try new adventures, such as white water rafting at the age of 73. She was a gracious lady whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. Helen's faith and family were the center of her life and she will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Memorial visitation TUESDAY, April 21, 2009 from 10 AM 11 AM at SACRED HEART OF JESUS CHURCH, 3635 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the staff at VITAS Hospice, Meadowmere and Mitchell Manor for their compassionate care these past several months.
