Harvey F. Hoernke Jr. transitioned gently and worry-free at the age of 88 on July 4, 2024 with his family at his side.

He is survived by Clarice his loving wife of 66 years, his three sons Jeffrey (Deborah), Gregory (Janine), Bradley (Teresa) and his grandson Trevor. Further survived by his sister Jean Serwa, brother Donald (Barbara) brother-in-law David Funck, sister-in-laws Diane Hoernke, Susan Funck, Joyce Funck, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Harvey F. Hoernke Sr., mother Evelyn (nee Krueger), father- and mother-in-law Clarence and Genevieve Funck, brothers Richard (Jeannie) and Gerald Hoernke, brother- and sister-in-laws Jim Serwa, Virginia Hoernke (Don), Jack Funck (Donna), Tom Funck and Peter Funck. Lastly by his faithful cats, Snoopy and Sparky.

Harv was a proud member and former District Governor of Toastmasters International. He was the founder and President of the Suburban Athletic Club and the President of Grant Park Men's Golf Club. He was a hardworking electrician for Staff Electric Company and member of IBEW Local 494 for 60 years. Harv was a loyal friend to many, a great conversationalist, a great family man and will be dearly missed by all.

Memorial Visitation will be at held at Prasser Kleczka Funeral Home, 3275 South Howell Avenue, on Thursday, August 1st, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a service to be held at 7:30 P.M.
