Greg passed away peacefully on August 2nd just 7 days short of his 75th birthday in the loving care and arms of his husband and sister in Rancho Mirage, CA. Greg was pre deceased by his parents Jack and Lorraine Gowdy and brother Tom Gowdy. He is survived by his loving partner and husband of 42 years, Jack Balzer; a sister, Patricia Gowdy; nephews, Josh, Joe and Jackson Gowdy; nieces, Sue (Mark), Kristen, Becky Kubisiak. Further survived by many friends.

Greg was a 35 year senior management employee of Educators Credit Union. Travel was Greg's passion. He and Jack took over 30 cruises and countless trips including Asia, Russia, Hawaii, Australia and beyond. He also loved the water and had a small sailboat named Sylvia in Door County and a pontoon boat to cruise around Little Muskego Lake with a cocktail or two. For retirement Greg and Jack settled in Rancho Mirage, Ca and were surrounded by wonderful friends. He and Jack began a quieter life as Greg's health began to fail. He struggled to the end as his heart began to fail and he was too weak to go on. He will be forever missed and loved.
