(nee Roberts) Went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, age 85. Loving wife of the late Willard. Dear mother of Grace (Dave) Dettmann, Fred (Sherry) Smalley and Judy Porter. Cherished grandmother of Chris Dettmann, Mike (Adriana Albright) Smalley, Beth (Jay) Doescher, Ben Dettmann, Rebecca (Chuck) Sheperd, Jon Dettmann and Russell (Christina) Porter. Further survived by 6.5 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Grace was a long-time member of Grace Bible Church where she was active in Women's Fellowship and the choir. She served as secretary and at the book table. She worked for many years as a secretary at Marshall Fields. She was a retired employee of Milwaukee County. Grace was a "master" cookie baker. Her trays of homemade goodies at Christmas time will be greatly missed. Grace loved hearing the birds sing and working in her garden. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29 from 2-5 PM. Funeral Service at GRACE BIBLE CHURCH, 2643 So. 117th St., West Allis on Monday, March 30 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Grace's name to Grace Bible Church or Northern Grace Youth Camp appreciated. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Francis House in Franciscan Villa and especially the staff in the Lead Unit for years of loving care provided to Grace.
