Mattson, Gladys M. "Joan" The rock of our family found peace surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at the age of 91. Preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Mattson, her mother Jennie Jones (KY) and sister Margaret Estes (TN). Loving mother of David (Kathleen) Mattson, Mel Mattson and Peggy (Dale) Windsor. Further survived by her grandchildren Ryan (Laura) Mattson, Adam Mattson, Kristian Butzin, Dustan Windsor, Aaron Mattson, 2 great grandsons Jacob and Jameson Mattson, and other family and friends. Mom was a retired RN and surrogate mother to many of our friends. She retired having worked in hospitals and lastly Senior Nursing Home Care. She fed everyone's spirit through her love and made sure that no one ever hungered. Her southern cooking and meals brought loved ones together and served up memories that will forever nourish our hearts. Our family would like to thank the doctors and ICU staff at St. Francis Hospital for their professional and gentle compassionate care. A special thank you to Dr. Misra for his years of care for our mom.
