Gerard J. (Garry) Pisarek, passed away on May 1, 2024, age 93. Garry was born in Milwaukee and graduated from Pulaski High School. He studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he met his wife of 71 years, Helen. The Art Institute's collections of works by Cezanne, Matisse, and Picasso inspired his own colorful abstract canvases. His works appeared in exhibitions at the Walker Art Center, the Crocker Art Museum, and the Butler Institute of American Art, as well as galleries in Illinois and Wisconsin. A lifelong lover of classical music and jazz, Garry named many of his paintings after composers. Garry will be laid to rest at Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee. A private memorial service will be held. The family extends their thanks to Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their kind care.
