IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geraldine Rose
Weller
April 6, 1942 – December 28, 2024
Geraldine "Gerry" (Skenandore) Weller, 82, found peace on December 28, 2024, with her children, Sharon and Mike at her side. Gerry was the fifth child born to Lester and Rose Skenandore on April 6, 1942, and grew up in De Pere, WI. After graduating from West De Pere high school, Gerry moved to Milwaukee, where she remained until retirement.
Gerry was very good with numbers, as evidenced by her careers including insurance adjuster, medical bookkeeper, inmate account management, tax preparation, and retirement specialist. Her attention to detail also led to a successful career in medical transcription in both the private and public sector. She also took classes at Milwaukee Area Technical College to enhance her financial management skills. She retired from public service for Milwaukee County.
Gerry was also a very talented seamstress, making one-of-a-kind outfits for both herself and her daughters. She enjoyed traveling, especially going to Las Vegas to see her sister, Dorothy. The biggest highlight of those Las Vegas trips was when she got to see her favorite singer, Elvis, in person. She also visited the Dakotas, Illinois, Hawaii, California, Arizona, Mexico, the Bahamas, and a special trip to Florida to witness the launch of the Mars Pathfinder spacecraft. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing card games and board games with Scrabble being her favorite. She had an especially close relationship with her eldest granddaughter, Sierra.
Gerry enjoyed sports, whether it was watching her son's wrestling matches and football games or watching her beloved Green Bay Packers. She proudly displayed her signed footballs, helmets, and jerseys from football legends such as Brett Favre, Reggie White, and Dan Marino. She also enjoyed walking and cross-country skiing.
After retirement, Gerry fulfilled her lifelong dream of moving to Las Vegas, where she lived for 8 years until she moved to California and finally back to Milwaukee, where she remained until her passing. Gerry is survived by her three children, Sharon (Anthony) Sorrentino, Michael (Katie) Weller, and Susan Dejewski, and her four grandchildren Sierra Sorrentino, Hannah Lauhon, Jackson Weller, and Ava Weller. She is further survived by brothers Kenneth and Roger, and by sisters Mary Gaetz, Patricia Whitson, Judith Skenandore, Janice Prohazka, Suzanne (David) Martinson, Jacqueline (Donn) Pozan, and Katherine Skenandore, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by parents Lester and Rose, brothers Ronald, Reginald, and William, and sisters Dorothy Gruetzmacher and Maxine Bente.
Special thanks to her daughter, Sharon, for ensuring that Gerry was well-cared for in her final years.
