Plesnik, Gerald Paul.

Passed away to Eternal Life on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the age of 81. Husband of Kathleen (nee Hranicka) for 54 years. Father of Kevin (Katina) and the late Jason J. Plesnik. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

"Jerry," born of Slovenian descent, grew up on the East side of Wet Allis, attended Burbank and Roosevelt Elementary Schools, later Horace Mann Junior High, finally the former West Milwaukee High School, where some of his teachers would later teach his son Kevin.

Jerry proudly served in the US Army, deployed in Korea amongst other locations during his tenure from 1962-65. Jerry was a proud West Allis resident, having lived and worked there for 44 years. He was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle enthusiast in his 20's. Over the years he worked at Pressed Steel Tank's West Allis plant, delivered appliances for Sears Roebuck Company (Harvey Service), bartended for Milwaukee SportService at County Stadium, and finally worked at Irving Elementary School for the West Allis/West Milwaukee School district before retiring.

Jerry was a man of many passions, enjoying monitoring the airwaves on his police scanner, playing organ, grilling, home remodeling and car restoration and repair. He was a frequent visitor of the West Allis Public Library and was constantly learning new things and expanding his horizons.

Jerry was not a man to quit or give up; he stressed the importance of perseverance in light of life's challenges. He was a generous and helpful soul, lending a hand to anyone he saw in need, and always put his family before himself - the lessons he taught his children and loved ones
