Gerald Scott Davis, also known as Scott, Scotty, Honey-san, S-Dawg, Scotty D, Scotty Karate, Chopper, and Dweez, peacefully shuffled off this mortal coil on Fri., Sept. 5, 2025, with his wife, daughter, and friends by his side.

Born Dec. 10, 1968 in Kenosha, WI, Scott spent his childhood as a free range hell-raising punk, and eventually became an upstanding citizen driven by optimism, generosity, justice, equity, and compassion. Brilliant and wickedly funny, Scott could turn any room into a party and any party into an epic tale of triumph and woe.

Scott graduated from Bradford High School in 1987, attended UW-Madison, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UW-Parkside in 1991. Scott returned to school and earned a Master's degree in Program Evaluation from UW-Stout in 2003. He spent the majority of his career evaluating educational and philanthropic outcomes for various schools and nonprofit organizations with his acutely detail-oriented research skills. Professional Services Group, Hope House, Milwaukee Public Schools, UW-Milwaukee, Blackhawk Technical College, MATC, and Ascendium all benefited from his relentless work ethic and passion.

Once he purchased the Sex Pistols' "Nevermind the Bollocks" at the local Montgomery Ward, music became the language that expressed his rage, passion, love, and everything in between. The Clash, the Pogues, Lucero, and IDLES were among his favorites. Scott went to hundreds of concerts throughout his life, and usually escaped the mosh pit unharmed.

Scott was passionate about traveling the world and expanding his horizons. Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Italy, Ireland, Nepal, Japan, South Korea, Iceland, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and France all changed his perspective about being a citizen of the world.

Scott was a voracious reader, absorbing fiction and nonfiction alike. He loved motorcycles, cars, and trucks of all kinds and you might have seen him speeding around in Old Blue, the Thunder Bunny, or the Mean Green Machine at some point. He had juvenile taste in TV and high-brow taste in movies. He solved crosswords in pen.

He was preceded in death by his sister, mother, and grandparents.

He was an utterly devoted husband to Chie Kakigi, and loving father to Sydnee (Joe Swamp) Davis. He also leaves behind his father, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a veritable army of family, friends, colleagues, roustabouts and ne'er-do-wells. He knew that strangers are just friends you haven't met yet.

A celebration of his audacious life will occur on Friday, October 3, 2025 between 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Mulligans Irish Pub & Grill (8933 S. 27th St. Franklin, WI 53132). Ceremony and toast at 6:00pm. In his honor, down a shot of Jameson, fight for the little guy, and keep kicking against the pricks. Remember his words: In spite of it all, life is beautiful.
