Obituary

On Friday, April 21st 2023 Gerald "Jack" Chrisman embarked on his next journey to be with the stars and one with the universe.

Jack was born on March 22nd 1941 to Margaret and Hubert Chrisman. Jack came from extremely humble roots and his story is one of perseverance and focus. Jack would go onto to attain two masters degrees and work in numerous high level institutional roles.

He is survived by his wife Juana Chrisman, daughters Maggie (Jodee) Benavides, Natacha Castro, siblings Ann Dolan, Carl (Michelle) Chrisman, and Edna Waddle, grandchildren Jeannie (Eleazar) Maldonado, Geraldo Castro, Leonides Benavides, Raul Benavides, and Jacquot Benavides, great-grand children Antonio Maldonado, Natalia Maldonado, Israel Martinez, Flora Benavides, and upcoming great-grandchild Athena Benavides, upcoming great-great grandchild Mateo Cruz.

Jack was a man of great patience and loyalty. He carried his family on his back to bring comfort to the ones he loved. Jack showed us his love through small trivial acts that individually seem small but collectively are testimony to where his mind and heart were always at, his family.

Jack crossed the world to find the love of his life Juana in Santiago, Chile. A simple act of looking for a map through an official government request lead him to Juana. After a few trips to visit Juana they married. Jack just out of graduate school and with little money risked it all for Juana, bringing her and her daughter here to the USA to start a new life.

They built a wonderful life here welcoming their child Maggie in 1970.

As he did his whole life Jack would show his dedication and loyalty through his last days, making sure his loved ones were well watched over, showing his family that to love is to let go of the self and he did. He is now with the stars watching over us…

The family would like to especially thank the staff of Froedtert Hospital.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6th, at 2:00 PM at  Arlington Park Cemetery at the Chapel of Roses.
