Gene R. Ikeler

Found peace on Friday, December 27, 2024, age 78 years. Survived by his children Erika (Jesse) Ikeler and Kurtis Ikeler, brother's Steve (Diann) Ikeler, Alan (Joan Kilian) Ikeler, cherished lifelong friend of Lynda Kotte, nieces, nephews, former spouse Gisela Ikeler, and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Herbert & Marcella Ikeler, sisters Faith Ikeler and Nannette (Ralph) Modjeska.

Gene started his career in industrial design, working freelance and for firms such as Brook Stevens, Design Corp Int, Buell Motorcycles and Harley Davidson. It was with HD that his career flourished, from the design labs to dealer sales, and he completed his career at the HD Museum retiring in 2019. For 20 years he organized the well-attended Gene O' Rides, and for 50 years he gathered people to ring in the new year playing volleyball (outdoors). In what spare time he did have he enjoyed wood working, driving his prized 1965 Corvette-Stingray, and was a magnificent storyteller. His generous lifestyle will be fondly remembered and not easily replicated.

Memorial Gathering at the Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12, 2025, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. Reception following, location TBD. Private inurnment Valhalla Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hunger Task Force, Fisher House-Milwaukee VA or the charity of your choice are appreciated.
