Found peace on Thursday, January 7, 2021, age 79 years. Beloved husband of Janice (nee Whalen) and the late Sharon (nee Munson). Loving father of Amy (Bill) Kolb and Gwen (Lanny) Betterman. Proud grandfather of Rachel and Connor Kolb; Samantha, Jordan and Lucas Betterman. Preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Verna Thompson, sister, Marilyn Prahl. Fond son-in-law of Rose Mary (the late John) Whalen. Dear brother-in-law, James (Mary) Whalen, Keith (Cheryl) Munson and the late Jan (Dennis) Wagen. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. Gary was the proud co-owner of the former National Appraisal Corp.. He was a dedicated lifetime Lion, both of the former Milwaukee Lake Lions and South Milwaukee Lions where he served as President, District Governor and was a Melvin Jones receipient.
