Gary was a United States Army veteran with the Seventh Army Division. He was stationed in Germany. Gary worked for many years as a highly skilled welder for Milwaukee Road and Rexnord. He also worked as a skilled machinist for several companies including Milwaukee Drop Forage and Northern Rail Car. Gary later retired as a process technician for Wixon. Gary was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He loved to metal detect for silver coins and gold rings. He enjoyed digging for old bottles at Lake Michigan. Later in life, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing pool. He was a devoted animal lover who went out of his way to feed all the birds, cats, squirrels, raccoons, possums, coyotes and foxes in his neighborhood. He adored his pet cat Lulu. He would go out of his way to help others. He truly appreciated the assistance he received from his neighbors in his later years. He will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Wisconsin Humane Society or Second Hand Purrs would be greatly appreciated.
