Obituary

Groth, Gary R. Sr. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather (aka duga and buddy) passed away April 29th, 2011 ending his long battle with cancer and is now with Christ as he triumphantly enters heaven. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Betty Groth, brother Roy Rosenthal, father and mother-in-law Gus and Sara Magestro, and sister-in-law Connie Kozlowski. Gary is survived by his soul mate and love of his life for 49 years, Toni (nee Magestro). Proud father of Raymond (Kristin), Gary Jr. (Cindy) and Sara (Alan). Also survived by his loving grandchildren Vincent, Samantha, Dominic, Brittany, Alex, and Katie bug. Dear brother of Eileen "Tootie" Marks, Gloria Vedra, and Ralph Rosenthal. Gary was born September 25, 1940 and grew up in the Menomonee Falls area. Gary is still regarded as one of the best athletes to come from that area. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Gary led an exemplary selfless life with the priorities of God, family, and friends. He will be missed by every life that he touched. The family would like to thank Dr. Brenda Pierce and her staff, including Sue, Vicki, Linda, Kristin, and Melissa from the Oncology Alliance. Their compassion was seen throughout his care. Additional thanks to Aurora Home Hospice, especially Kathy, for everything in his final weeks with us. The spiritual care, counseling and love shown by Pastor Kenneth Kratz will never be forgotten. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday May 4th, 2011 from 10:00 Am-1:00 PM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (6700 S. Howell Ave). A memorial service will follow for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's Church in Gary's name are appreciated.
