IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frederick John
Busse
February 2, 1941 – February 8, 2024
Frederick John Busse passed peacefully on February 8, 2024. Beloved husband of Sandra (nee Schanning) Busse, married for 61 beautiful years. Loving father of Mary Beth (Gary) Hohnl, Doyle Busse, and Dale (Kelli) Busse. Grandfather to Kurt (Robbee) Hohnl, Tricia (Jacob) Dobrient, and Megan (Mathew) Jakubowski, Micheal (Isabel) Penneau, and Oliver Busse. Great-grandfather to Peyton Oestreich.
Fred's love of family was undeniable. From band/orchestra concerts to track meets to car
shows, you would always find Fred in the crowd cheering on his favorite kids and grandkids. Travels across the country wouldn't stop him, trips to Hawaii, Los Angeles, Niagara Falls, and more, were all travels he made for the love of his family. If he wasn't physically with his family, you would find him bragging about one of their accomplishments or working on a project for any of his kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, siblings, etc.
Beyond his cherished family, Fred held dear his moments shared with his close circle of friends. Whether casting lines alongside Gene and Mary on fishing trips, breakfast gatherings with former colleagues, or engaging in leisurely chats with his longtime neighbor and dear friend, Mike, Fred's social connections enriched his life. Husband, brother, uncle, and friend were roles he embraced wholeheartedly, but it was as "Papa" that those closest to him knew his heart best.
Fred loved ice cream and was known as the fastest ice cream eater in the family. His fondness for chocolate was also a well-known trait among those who knew him. Fred's passion for woodworking leaves a lasting legacy within the pieces of furniture and projects he crafted, now treasured heirlooms within the family. Grounded in his faith, Fred's regular attendance at church and commitment to Christian teachings embodied his deep-seated values and beliefs.
