Devoted husband of Florence B. Reith died peacefully in his home on January 19th, the night after he celebrated his 83rd birthday. He was born in the Crivitz area and was one of sixteen children. Frank Charapata was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Cecilia Charapata and his son Dr. Francis Charapata. He is survived by his loving children Charlene (Rand) Harteau, Geralyn (Jim) Charapata-Marsh, Dr. Steven (Pamela) Charapata, Dr. Thomas (Christine) Charapata, and Susan (Glenn) Margraff Sr., He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Suzanne (Michael) Madden, Steven (Renee) Harteau, Dr. Christian (Kate) Harteau, Elyce Harteau, Nathan, Frances, Patrick, David, Aaron, Nolan Charapata, Dustin, Channell Charapata, Tyler, Michael, Téa Charapata and Cecilia, Glenn Jr., Francis, and John Paul Margraff. He has one great-granddaughter Olive Madden. Frank was a man for all seasons. He was a great example to those around him. Frank taught High School in Antigo, Rhinelander, and Cudahy for over 30 years. He taught Spanish, English, Latin, History and lessons in life. Frank was an insurance man for National Guardian Life Insurance Company. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Cudahy. He enjoyed telling jokes, reading, playing cards, and doing the crossword puzzle. Frank and his lovely bride would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on January 31, 2008. Frank enjoyed spending his days with his wife Florence in their home in Cudahy overlooking Lake Michigan or spending time at their cottage in Rhinelander. Frank was a World War II Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Frank earned his undergraduate degree from St. Norbert College and Marquette University where he earned a Masters Degree. Frank was an avid Packer and Marquette Warrior fan. Frank will be sadly missed by his many relatives, friends, students, colleagues, and those who helped him with his healthcare in the last years of his life.
