Francisco Eduardo Ramirez, 52, passed away on Friday, September 25th, at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital in Franklin surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Enrique "Henry" and Herlinda (Canales) Ramirez, he grew up in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Moss Bluff, Louisiana, New Martinsville, West Virginia, Seabrook, Texas, and Gurnee, Illinois. He graduated from Warren High School in Gurnee in 1992 before forging a creative path in music and printmaking.

At the age of 24, he was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. He participated in risky trials at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, receiving experimental treatments, including a stem cell transplant, a procedure that is common practice today. After 5 years of treatment, he was declared cancer-free.

He went on to earn a BA at Chicago's Columbia College in 2010. In Chicago he met and fell in love with Robyn Lucks. Together they moved to Milwaukee and in 2013 they welcomed a daughter Emma. Although no longer married, they remained close friends, neighbors, and devoted co-parents. Francisco was an incredibly active father. He was Emma's soccer coach, drum tech, bandmate, and biggest champion.

In addition to his daughter and parents, he leaves behind Robyn Lucks, a sister Monica Ramirez Joy of Dripping Springs, TX and Enrique Ramirez of Brooklyn, NY, as well as nieces and nephews. They grieve alongside a large community of friends, all of whom loved him and are still shocked by his departure.

An open house celebration of his life will be held at the Magnet Factory in Milwaukee on Saturday October 24th, from 3pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to this Go Fund Me: https://gofund.me/3a5334bad. This fund honors Francisco's memory by providing financial security for Emma's needs.
