Found peace on September 10, 2003, at the age of 95. Preceded in death by her beloved sister Mildred Housfeld. Dear aunt and "second mother" of Carol (John) Schmuhl and Richard (Maureen) Housfeld. Proud great-aunt of Jennifer (Ivo Monzani) and Peter Schmuhl and Michele (Dean) Kindrai and Patrick Housfeld. Special great-great aunt of Sophia Monzani and Grant Kindrai. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Evelyn served the Milwaukee Public Schools for 47 years, primarily as a teacher at Fernwood and a principal at Tippecanoe. Contributing as a supervisor or teacher of Sunday School for over 50 years, she was a lifetime member of Christ Church UCC. Evelyn was an ardent traveler and photographer, having visited every continent but Antarctica. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Milwaukee Area Retired Teachers Assn., Wisconsin Retired Educators Association and the American Association of University Women. After spending most of her life in Bay View, Evelyn became an active resident of Tudor Oaks Retirement Community during the past 12 years.
