(nee Chavez) Went safely home to heaven on Friday, February 21, 2014. Age 79 years. Cherished sister of Alice (Kenneth) Marshall and the late Aurora (Roman) Bruening, Carlos (the late Lena Mae) Chavez, Antonio Jr. (the late May) Chavez. Rudolph (the late Shirley) Chavez, Paul (Judy) Chavez, and Louis (Kathy) Chavez. Preceded in death by her husband Wayne and her parents Esther Delgado-Chavez and Antonio Chavez. Further survived by four generations of nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Although she faced many trials in life, she was an example of strength, courage, generosity and faith. She leaves as her legacy the importance of love for family, friends, and living out faith by example. Esther was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. The family would like to thank Luther Manor staff and the hospice staff especially nurse Piper for the care and compassion they gave Esther.
