August 20, 1951 – June 11, 2024
Erin L. O'Brien (Sjoblom)
Completed her journey Home and was reunited with her husband Tyler Sjoblom on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Age 72 years. Loving and devoted mom of Nick (Renee) Sjoblom. Cherished grandma of Tyler and Thomas Sjoblom. Loving sister of Shannon O'Brien (Kelly Mattox) and Meegan (Mark) O'Brien Kapsos. Dear sister-in-law of Martin (Priscilla) Sjoblom and Michael (Melissa Doughtie Stamates) Sjoblom. Adored aunt of Daniel McIntosh and Edward (Tia) McIntosh; Joseph (Amy) O'Brien and the late Nathaniel Koch; Kellie (Mike) Basevic, Joseph (Elizabeth) Sjoblom and Wil Sjoblom; Amanda Morlocke. Erin is also preceded in death by her parents Lee and Edward. She is also survived by cousins, other family members and friends.
Erin was born in Illinois, lived in Boston with her siblings, mom and dad, Baraboo near her grandparents and was a Wisconsinite most recently ( and a lifelong Packer fan)
She was a 1969 graduate of John Marshall High School. She attended Layton School of Art College. There she showed strong promise in painting, sketching and won many awards in sculpting and glazing techniques honing in on her sculpting and pottery skills. Over the years, Erin helped run several well-known family businesses such as B.S. Wisniewski, BJ Grouches and Faces on Lisbon Avenue. Tyler and Erin went on to open a music store on Brady St. in Milwaukee called Star Spin Records. They relocated from Brady St. to Prospect Mall where they worked for many years until they decided to move to Illinois. While there Erin began to work in property management. Later her and Tyler re-entered the music industry by opening a guitar store Tyler's Music Zone in McHenry, IL. In her later years, Erin returned to Wisconsin and found a renewed passion for art.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Erin's name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Erin's family would like to thank Tammi Zapata from Grandma's Helper for all of her friendship and support over the past few years, Holly Schneider, Mary O'Brien Walsh and Mary Deering for being wonderful life long friends until the end. They would also like to thank the staff at Accent Care Hospice and The Lutheran Home for everything they did to give comfort Erin and the family in her final days.
They also thank Prasser-Kleczka for making this final process effortless on their part.
Erin loved the movie Mr. Holland's Opus; if you will… as her family we are the notes to her opus and they will continue to make music in her honor forever.
A celebration of Erin's life will take place at a later date this summer.
