Passed away peacefully just as he lived on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, age 99 years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Grace (nee Casagrande). Dear father of Paula (Dr. David) Erickson and Richard (Charmin) Husty. Treasured grandfather of Brea and Dana Erickson; Adam (Keri) and Katie Husty. Beloved brother-in-law of Margaret (Richard) Casagrande and dear uncle of Donna (Greg) Lee. Born in Hungary, Elmer immigrated to the U.S. and with his marriage to his beloved wife Grace was embraced by the Italian community of Bay View. Elmer worked at Vilter Manufacturing for 50 years. A man of simple tastes and strong values, Elmer pursued his hobbies in gardening, reading and was a loyal fan of the Packers and Brewers. Everyone who knew him was touched by his kind and gentle nature. Elmer's family is grateful for the generous love and extraordinary care that he received from Brian and Barb Haley and the caregivers of the Twin Oaks residence.
