(nee Kelly) Elizabeth Ann "Betty" was called home to God on June 28, 2012. She was born on October 6, 1926 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late William T. Kelly and the late Mable Ann McLean-Kelly. Elizabeth Ann joins her brothers and sisters in heaven William Kelly, Marnie Kelly, Mary Beeman, Joseph Kelly, James Kelly, Bernadette Kelly-Perry, and Robert Brown. Other departed family members include granddaughter "angel" April Mather-Rezach. Betty is survived by her brothers Terrance (Rose Anne) Kelly and John Kelly, sister Carol (Jack) Headke, Ardith (William) Kelly, Terry (Joseph) Kelly, Loretta (James) Kelly, Joseph & Jeanne Pederson, and Kay (William) Mather. Betty is also survived by her ten children Thomas (Mary) Mather, Patricia (Robert) Mather-Wiza, Dolores (Michael) Johnson, Margret Mather, Sally (Paul) Filak, James (Julie) Mather, Michael (Debra) Mather, Jeanne (Stan) Gibbs, Joseph Mather and Richard Mather.
Elizabeth Ann Kelly was married to the late John Michael Mather on January 3, 1948 and was the mother to ten children. Betty was also a Grandmother to 17 grandchildren and Great-grand mother to 29 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth Ann provided 77 years of service and membership to St Matthias Parish where she was an active volunteer for over 35 years. Elizabeth Ann, a graduate of Pius XI high school had provided active leadership and support for the Girl Scouts of America (36 yrs.), CCD Special Education Program (35 yrs.), Catholic Eucharistic Ministry (15 yrs.), American Legion Post 10 Auxiliary (20 yrs.), and Mensa (40 yrs.)Elizabeth Ann was honored by her community through several awards for her volunteerism including the Pius XI High School Alumni "Community Service" and the Mensa "Volunteer of the Year" awards. Elizabeth Ann Kelly-Mather is loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community.
Visitation at the Funeral Home on Monday, July 2, 2012, 4:00-7:00 PM, prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation also on Tuesday, 9:30-10:15 AM at ST. MATTHIAS CHURCH, 9306 W. Beloit Rd., Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Private interment at Wood National Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the Girl Scouts of America are appreciated.
