Heffner, Edward M. Passed away at his home on November 26, 2014. Age 90 years. Ed was born to Frank and Rose Heffner in Milwaukee on June 17, 1924. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII, last assigned to the USS Hyman, and attended annual memorial services with his USS Hyman shipmates until 2014. He retired from Hotpoint. He was a dedicated member of the Day-Lite Masonic Lodge #358 where he was past Master and Counselor. He was also in the Shriner clown unit and was known as "Simbo" the clown. He participated in Milwaukee's Great Circus Parade for many years and was the featured clown on the 1986 Circus Parade poster. He delighted adults and children alike with his animal balloons, stories and big smile. He attended the 100th anniversary of the Great Lakes Naval Training Center on Flag Day of June 2011. He was a member of South Milwaukee American Legion Post #27 Honor Guard, where his community service continued up unto his passing. Ed is survived by his daughter Bernadette Ahuna of Newbury Park, CA and son Leslie (Cynthia)Heffner of Albuquerque, NM; extended family Richard (Teri) Tolson, Sandra (the late Jim) Brower, the late Robert Tolson, James Tolson, Gary (Diana)Cole, Russell Cole, Betty(the late Richard)Cole, friends Ron McClelland, Robin Johnson, and Pat Webb, 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Adolf and Michael, sisters Helen and Trudy, and wives Martha and Lillie. Visitation at the Funeral Home SUNDAY, December 7, 2014 from 5-8PM. Masonic Services at 7PM under the Auspices of F.& A..M. Day-Lite Lodge #358. Private interment with Military Honors performed by Honor Guard Post #27 at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
