Douglas A. Wicker, III, age 60, passed away courageously in the arms of his wife with his daughter at his bedside on Thursday, April 29th, 2021. Loving husband of Nancy (nee Podjaski). Cherished father to Douglas Austin Wicker IV, Reanna Wicker, and Nicole Wicker. Son of the late Douglas A. Wicker Jr. Survived by mother Darlene Wicker (nee Grable), brother Daniel Wicker, and sister Dawn (Brett) Bohn. Also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, neighbors, and his puppy, Bandit.
Douglas worked for Paint Services for the City of Milwaukee Fire Department. He was a talented musician, artist, car enthusiast, teacher, and a prolific craftsman. He was a true master of all trades and was particularly skilled at building boats and lures. An avid musky fisherman, he enjoyed spending time with family – who meant the world to him – in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Taken too soon, he will be deeply missed by all who have been blessed to have known him.
Douglas' family would like to extend a special thanks to his entire Fire Department family, the staff of Froedtert Cancer Center, and the staff of Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their compassionate care.
Memorial Visitation Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 11AM to 1:30PM at THE FUNERAL HOME, with a Memorial Prayer Service to follow at 1:30PM. We ask that you honor his memory with acts of kindness.
