Douglas J. Johnson, born on September 30, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, departed from this world on March 22, 2026 and joined his parents, Forrest and Margaret Johnson; a brother, Eugene Johnson; and a nephew, Ian Johnson. He leaves behind a legacy defined by his unmatched mechanical skills, cheerful disposition, and the love he shared with those around him.
From a young age, Doug's natural talent for fixing things set him apart. His friends and family fondly remember him as the one who could repair nearly anything, turning challenges into adventures with his skilled hands and inventive mind. As a dedicated auto mechanic, Doug was a guiding light in the automobile repair industry, forging connections with colleagues and customers alike through his unwavering passion for his craft.
Doug will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Steve (Vicki), Elaine (Tim) Antoniewicz, Dave (Sandi), Lorna Gibson and Darrin (the late Kelly) Johnson, cherishing their bond and the laughter they shared throughout the years. Cherished uncle of Liz, Kristan, Scott, Greg, Eric, Lisa, Kelli, Travis, Melinda, Coltan, Kayla, Collin, Melanie, Kraig and Dustin. Further survived by other family and friends. His warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation at Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home, Bay View Chapel, 3275 S. Howell Ave., on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, 5:00-7:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather to share their stories at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to local community programs that support youth in the trades, honoring Doug's commitment to fostering the next generation of skilled mechanics. Doug J. Johnson's kind spirit will live on in the hearts of those closest to him and his legacy will continue to inspire those who strive to fix what is broken-just as he did.
