IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Mae
Gaspie
June 20, 1933 – October 11, 2025
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 92.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Gaspie Sr. Loving mother of the late Deborah (Thomas) Kloskey, the late Linda Gaspie, Darlene (the late Joyce Garcia) Gaspie, the late Mark (the late Candice) Gaspie, Michael (James Steuer) Gaspie, Joseph Jr. (the late Paula) Gaspie, the late Dorothy Kallas, and Suzann (Charles) Reiff. Cherished "Nana" of Amy Jo (Anthony) D'Addario, Andrea (Darrin) Glad, Anthony (Trish) Kloskey; John (Melissa) Dolney; Juan Garcia; Marcus (Cindy) Gaspie and Brenna (John) Wilburn; Brian (Jenn) Balistreri; Christopher Gaspie and the late Justin Kallas; Timothy Rowe and Daniel Rowe. Dorothy is further survived by 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Ernestine Silva, and her brothers George, Ernest, Richard, Wallace, Howard, and Thomas Adams.
Dorothy was born on June 20, 1933, in Provincetown, Massachusetts, where both her and Joseph's families worked as commercial fishermen on Cape Cod. Growing up near the sea, she learned the values of hard work, resilience, and community that would define her entire life.
In her youth, Dorothy excelled in basketball and baton twirling, and as a teenager, she met her future husband, Joseph. The two shared a spirited love, marrying in 1951 and beginning their family in Provincetown before moving to Milwaukee in 1957.
Once her children were grown, Dorothy began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where her compassion and humor made her beloved among patients and co-workers alike. She had a natural way of making others feel cared for and heard - a gift that carried through every stage of her life.
As the years went on, Dorothy found joy in painting, socializing, and making friends wherever she went. She had a magnetic personality, quick with a story, a laugh, or a little sass when the moment called for it.
Above all else, Dorothy was devoted to her family. Being a mother and "Nana" was her greatest pride and joy. She loved family gatherings, phone calls, and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, humor, and steady love were the glue that held generations together.
Dorothy will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the way she brought people together, whether around a kitchen table, a story, or a simple cup of coffee.
Her spirit, much like the sea she grew up beside, will remain constant , deep, strong, and always a part of those she loved.
