Doria Lynn Haering
October 9, 1955 - July 1, 2021
When Mister Rogers told us to "Look for the helpers" in this world we found Doria.
Doria went home to God on July 1, 2021. We have no doubt that she received the most awesome and beautiful "welcome home" party imaginable!
Survived in this life by her loving husband Steve Luedtke, her doting sisters Kristen, Lisa, Katie. Madre Sara Bossatti, nephew Sam, brother-in-law Kirk (Kim), and faithful companion Roxie. Predeceased in death by her parents John Haering and Dolores 'Dee' Haering, and brother David Haering. A heartfelt thank you and much gratitude given to the many friends and family that have been on this journey with Doria and have made a present of their presence.
Doria Lynn was blessed with the longest and best legs in the Haering household....if you happened to forget that "fact" she would be sure to remind you. She also liked to share with her many friends and colleagues that she was the eldest of 5 siblings and therefore had certain entitlements and bragging rights.
Doria earned her Masters in Social Work from UWM in 1989. She completed her internship at Froedtert Hospital before moving on to Aurora Sinai where she served as a licensed Clinical Social Worker for 22 years. Her compassion, empathy, intuition and intricate knowledge of community resources benefited many clients and touched innumerable lives.
In 2013 she began working for Milwaukee County as an Adult Protective Services Intake Coordinator before retiring in 2019.
Beyond measure, Doria loved Steve, her family and friends, music, the Packers, singing in the Grace Presbyterian Church choir (and to anyone that would listen!), words and writing poetry, international/domestic travel, and all dogs and cats. Doria will be most remembered for her quick wit, one-liners and amazing sometimes irreverent sense of humor. She was by far one of the most loving, generous, charitable and giving people we will ever know. She made the world a better place and was a true gift to everyone who knew her.
A visitation will be held Saturday July 3, 2021 at Prasser Kleczka Funeral Home-South Suburban Chapel (6080 S 27th Street) from 11AM-12:30PM. A Celebration of Doria's life will be at 12:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wisconsin Humane Society or The Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
Doria, rest in light and love forever in our hearts and thoughts. Mooches. We love you MORE!
