Obituary

Rychlinski, Donald "Kato" Passed February 6, 2023 at the age of 71 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife Mary (nee Kwiecien) (formerly of Muskegon, MI), mother Shirley Rychlinski of Wauwatosa, son Ryan (Jennifer) Rychlinski of West Bend, grandson Owen, sister Diane Rychlinski of St. Francis, brother Steve Rychlinski of Sturgeon Bay, former wife Kate Rychlinski of Bay View, nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Donald.

Kato was born and raised in Milwaukee, having graduated from Pius XI High School in 1969. He followed in his father's footsteps and became a steamfitter, working for Milwaukee Public Schools. Like his father, he was an avid, accomplished sailor. He was captain of "Kato" and part of the S-2 9.1M racing group. Kato was a lifetime member of the South Shore Yacht Club. Music carried him through the ups and downs in life, and he shared and introduced music to many -- becoming an essential bond between father, son and grandson.

Kato's family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care of Horizon Home Care & Hospice, and a special thank-you to his aide, Fatime. Memorials, if so desired may be made to Horizon Hospice in Donald's name.
