Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Elaine Evert, age 72, who departed from this world on November 27, 2025. Born on March 21, 1953, in Jetmore, Kansas, Diane brightened the lives of many throughout her journey, finally making Milwaukee, Wisconsin, her home.

Diane was a proud member of the utilities industry, dedicating her career to the Wisconsin Gas Company as a skilled pipefitter for over 20 years.

Diane cherished the great outdoors, often finding peace while fishing or engaging in various DIY projects where she could work with her hands. A natural builder and creator, she took pride in the repairs and improvements she made, always striving to leave her mark on the world around her. She also found joy in cooking and sharing meals with loved ones. Her hands were a testament to her creativity and diligence, crafting an inviting home filled with warmth and love.

Family was the cornerstone of her life; she greatly valued the bonds with her siblings and parents, and as her health waned, she ensured to stay connected with her loved ones through heartfelt phone calls and messages.

Diane leaves behind her beloved spouse, Lisa Simon, her devoted father, Wendell Evert, along with her siblings Cheri (Scott) Anderson, Raquel (Bill) Smellage, Jay (Kim) Evert, Michael (Karen) Evert, and nieces and nephews Brock, Brady, Caleb, Abigail, Kelli, Devon, Kaden, Dawson, Chesney, Ryan, Mikaela, Amy, Angela. She was preceded in death by her mother, LaDonna Evert, brother, David Rehmert, and her nephew Drake Evert.

In honoring Diane's legacy, family and friends are encouraged to engage in the pursuits she loved: spend a day outdoors, explore a DIY project, or share a hearty meal—all acts that she would have embraced with joy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to the ASPCA and the World Wildlife Fund.
