Obituary

Diane Avis Dillow "DD" Traveled to her final destination, Home to the Arms of Jesus on June 6, 2021. She passed peacefully sleeping in her chair. Diane was born to Dolores Scheifen (nee Frahm) and Norman Southern on March 4th 1930 in Wauwatosa, WI. Diane worked as a Teller Supervisor at Marine Bank in the 70's. She then opened up DD's Corner Grocery in South Milwaukee. Then owned and operated a bar, restaurant and grocery store called the Phantom Hideaway in Mukwonago in the late 70's and 80's. She loved to travel and planned many trips for her customers and family. Diane's biggest passion was her family and friends. Being the matriarch, she was the first to send out holiday cards and birthday cards to every relation and friend she knew. She kept a whole room of gifts that she would gather for birthdays, weddings, and Christmas in advance (sometimes years in advance) because she thought of that person that day. Diane was the first to welcome you in the family and was always giving and generous. She was a very devoted Lutheran and took every opportunity to support her church. She enjoyed taking time everyday to read the Bible and do her devotions. She made sure every child was baptized. Diane loved to go out to eat but especially to her local Culver's in Mukwonago where she was always given the red carpet treatment by all the management and staff. She, in fact, lost much weight just eating a half of a Culver's salad every evening. However, she loved their Reuben's and Mint Chocolate Chip custard equally well. Diane joins in Heaven her late husband William E. Dillow and late husband Walter Servin Jr. who went many years before her. She is now with her daughter, Gina Perry; son, Jeffrey Dillow, brothers Keith Southern Sr. and Gary Southern; sister, Gloria Burrow. She is survived by her children: Christine Bergmann; Candace Keough (James); Mark Dillow (Sandra); Sheila Valente (Daniel), Kelly Dillow (daughter-in-law); her grandchildren Chadwick Chilton, Rachel Chilton, Clint Bergmann, Justin Bergmann (Jenny), Scott Kreiser, Kimberly Karl, Kelly Beltran (Anthony), Kevin Dahlen, Jessica Schmus (Jason), Brittany Dillow, Marcus Dillow (Brienna), Nikolis Grzenia, Kaley Ducane, Faith Kaminski, Joshua Kaminski, Jacob Kaminski; by her great-grandchildren Destiny Raney, Megan Bergmann, Ethan Bergmann, Haley Bergmann, Hayden Bergmann, Savanna Kreiser, Riley Buchheit, Lily Schmus, Jack Schmus, Ryan Schmus, Ava Schmus, Nikolis Grzenia Jr., Gabriel Ducane, Scarlett Ducane; by her brother, Roger Southern (Carol); sister-in-law, Mary Southern; sister, Marlene Starcznski. Visitation at the Funeral Home Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 4-6 PM. Funeral Service at 6PM. Interment Monday 11 AM at Wood National Cemetery in Milwaukee.
