David P. Snifka, of St. Francis, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 1, 2023. Age 76 years. Steadfast husband to Christine (nee Moore). Father of Lynne (Jay) and Paul (Amy). Loving grandpa to Payton and Landon. Beloved son of the late Paul and Leone Snifka. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

A 1964 graduate of Boy's Tech High School, Dave began his career at Allen-Bradley before taking over the family business, Paul's Hardware, in the mid-1970s. He later worked as a real estate agent and appraiser. He enjoyed working in his garden, watching old movies, golfing, and volunteering at the Schultz Resort Rod & Gun Club. Back in the day, he was also a heck of a bowler. Dave was a bit of a curmudgeon, even surly at times, but he was also a fierce defender of his family who loved telling stories and a good "dad joke." He doted on his grandchildren and was a fervent fan of their athletic teams. There was no one you could count on more in a crisis, and he'd go to the ends of the earth to help just about anyone he knew. He'd also go to the ends of the earth to save 10 cents a pound on bananas. He could, and did, fix everything. He cooked amazing comfort food.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) are appreciated.

A small, private service was held for the immediate family.
