Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2024 after a valiant 8-month fight for his life. Age 66 years. He joins in Eternal Life his parents Eugene and Geraldine. Cherished brother of Michael (Mary) Mazur, Christopher (Michele) Mazur and Kathleen Mazur. Adored uncle of Michelle Mazur (Mark Braun), Michael (Godson) Mazur (Marcia Bergemann) and Matthew (Jessica) Mazur; Nicholas (Michele) Mazur, Patricia Mazur, Justin (Sarah) Stobbe and Stephanie (Paul) Viljevac; and his furry niece Fergie. Dear great-uncle Kacee; Alexis and Jordan; Clayton, Ella and Cecelia; Camden and Jackson, Madison, Caleb and Noah. Adored nephew of Shirley (the late Wayne) Schmidt. Dear cousin of Linda Miller, Gordon (the late Susan) Seiffert; Butch Jirovec, Ronald (Nancy) Jirovec, Wayne (Kathy) Jirovec, Barbara (Tryg) Torgerson, Lana (Glen) Seefeldt and Randy (Holly) Schmidt. Tracy (David) Asmussen, Jason (Godson) (Juliette) Seiffert, Sarah (Nicholas) Nordman, Chad Jirovec, David (Angela) Jirovec, Rebecca (Jamie) Galioto, Garrett Torgerson, Benjamin (Bethany Torgerson, Richard (Wanda) Seefeldt, Katie Paez (Kevin Waldman). Longtime friend of Tom (Anne) Frederick, Don (Heather) Frederick and Chris (Ann Marie) Frakes and the late Ralph DiChristopher. Dave is also survived by other family members and friends.
Born and raised in Milwaukee was a 1975 graduate of Bay View High School. He was also a graduate of Marquette University. He worked for over 14 years in nursing at St. Luke's Medical Center. Afterwards Dave spent the rest of his working career working for various insurance companies in patient utilization review retiring from Managed Health Services in 2022.
Throughout his life Dave enjoyed traveling to Puerto Vallarta, Florida and especially Las Vegas. He loved cooking and was known for his Thanksgiving stuffing. Any opportunity Dave would find his way into a pool and bask in the glory of the sun. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan a Gold Package Season Ticket Holder. What Dave loved most in life was his family, whether it was talking to his siblings DAILY, going to family Brewer games, get togethers for holidays he loved spending time with his family and Fergie loved walks with her "Uncle Dove".
Dave will be remembered for his very dry sense of humor and his love for a wet Bacardi Dark Rum and Diet Coke. He was level headed, always calm and collected. When physicians and nurses would comment on how difficult things were for him Dave would selflessly respond, "There are others that have it worse than me". Dave lived his life a strong sense of graciousness and gratitude.
Last but not least Dave's siblings would like express their appreciation to his niece Jessica for outstanding care, compassion and time taking care Dave from home.
A Celebration of Dave's life will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
