It is with great sadness that the family and friends of David Joseph Howser announce his passing on August 2nd, 2020. He was a lifelong resident, artist, and designer of Milwaukee, WI.
David was born January 27th, 1954, to Roy and Rosemary Howser of Milwaukee, WI, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his siblings, Douglas (Debra) Howser, Donna (Gregory) Heisel, and Daniel (Deborah) Howser; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Howser, Maria (Cole) Jackson, Amanda (Jaymes) Macik, Brett Heisel, Mariah (Nate) Rittershaus, and great nephews, Connor and Landon Jackson. He is further survived by many cousins and friends, including his closest, lifelong friends, Bill Hoffmann and Nancie Schworck.
David will be fondly remembered for his artistic creations and contributions to Milwaukee and the LGBTQ community. In the 80's and 90's he designed and decorated the holiday displays at Grand Avenue, Bayshore, and Mayfair Malls, Gimbels, Boston Store, and many other locations in Downtown Milwaukee. He went on to own a small storefront in Bay View and later turned it into an online shop for his unique celebrity-inspired t-shirts. He loved fashion, New York City, creating fabulous costumes for Halloween, frequenting local restaurants, going to the movies, and above all- Diana Ross. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
