IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Wayne
Bennett
January 9, 2001 – August 3, 2024
David Wayne Bennett (aka our Davisito, Tonka Wonka Bear, Nana, and lastly my Puerto Rican Prince) the beloved son of David Monge and Lisa Marie Bennett was born on January 09, 2001 in Milwaukee, WI. David Wayne was lifted by the hands of God and carried home on August 03, 2024.
Preceeded in death by his Grandfather, David Monge Sr., Uncle Allen Lee Condiff, and his big cousin who he looked up to and adored Steven Ralph Swartz.
Survived by his loving Father David Monge, Mother Lisa Marie Bennett, Dog/Companion/Best Friend Courage (aka Spoiled Little Shit), Sisters: Barbie and Fabiola Monge, Grandparents: Sandra Marquez, Donna Bennett (aka GG), Danny W. Bennett (Cheryl Condiff), Aunts: Lucy Rodriguez Marquez, Donna Bennett-Hughes, Dana and Dianna Bennett, Danielle Skenandore, Uncles: Juan Cardona-Marquez, Danny Condiff, Cousins: Marrelis Ferrer Marquez, Laura Ferrer, Yaretzi and Rosalinda Gomez, Danna Bennett, Ariana Hughes, Jordan and Mya Bennett, Alton, Armani, Alonte, Altiyanna Bennett-Ithier and many more family and close friends.
David Wayne was a goofy fun loving "PERSEVERANT" young man with a heart of gold, who would protect all those that he loved both family and friends and even complete strangers that he encountered in life. He was one of the most grateful individuals that cherished and appreciated all things whether big or small, especially people spending time with him to make memories. David was also very forgiving and "LOVED HARD" with much vulnerability. He was a great listener and comforted those when he knew they needed him, even if he needed comfort for himself.
"It is through the challenges and trials of life that our faith is refined, our character is shaped, and our hope God's faithfulness is strengthened. Perseverance is not just about enduring hardships; it is about growing in our relationship with God and becoming more like Christ."
"To love hard is to put every part of your person into your heart and emotions. It can be a good thing or a bad thing, letting yourself be that vulnerable and open. You'll find that you can easily experience some of the best part of life, but your also liable to getting hurt more easily and more deeply."
David Wayne was talented and naturally gifted since birth. He was a comedian and actor as a child, and as a young adult he still wrote and made skits with his friends. Having the vision and goal of still becoming a professional comedian/actor. He loved to sing and even wrote his own lyrics to songs, produced and recorded some of them. His voice was beautiful and full of soul. He could also play the guitar and was self-taught (he was supposed to be working on learning how to play Elvis Presley's song "Can't Help Falling in Love to play it for his Momma and GG). David also always loved to dance, he could and would dance to any music especially merengue and salsa (it was in his blood). He was light and fast on his feet and could pick up on all styles of dance with ease. He had "Happy Feet" just like the "penguins" in the movie. Overall, he was born a natural entertainer and would put a smile on people's faces, this is what made him happiest life<3
Some of David Wayne's other hobbies and things that he loved most were: spending quality time with his family and friends, drawing, reading (he loved historical facts and was a history buff), thrifting at Goodwill and secondhand stores. He enjoyed watching and attending sporting events, mostly hockey. David played soccer and football throughout his schooling and loved the camaraderie of being part of a team. As an adult he was very interested in and went to the gym to train and learn the skills of boxing and MMA. He was a big movie goer and loved watching old movies, particularly from the 80's. Some of his most favorite movies growing up were "The Goonies" and "The Toy" with Richard Pryor.
David Wayne's future goals that he spoke about were continuing to finish his education and pursue training to go into the trades, with the hopes of still becoming a professional comedian/actor. He was looking forward to relocating to Florida in the very near future. With the vision of buying land and having a farm on it, to grow watermelon. To meet a kind, caring, beautiful young lady to have many children with and move me "his mother" in to help raise and care for the children. This future young lady and children would have been blessed to call him their husband and father.
David Wayne's memory will forever live on in the hearts and memories of his dog/companion/best friend Courage (aka Spoiled Litte Shit), family, friends', and those that were honored to have the privilege of meeting or knowing him even briefly; his legacy will live on. Although we had him for a short time and he was taken too soon, we were blessed to have him with us these 23 years. Even thou our lives will never be the same without him, we will hold onto his handsome smile.
Rest peacefully David Wayne Bennett (aka our Davisito, Tonka Wonka Bear, Nana, and lastly my Puerto Rican Prince). We will love you and remember you forever and always until we are joined together again <3
Moving forward we'd ask that you please find comfort in the spiritual poem as his father, and I have.
Death Is Nothing At All
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well.
