Born to eternal life on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, age 80 years. Beloved and devoted husband for 59 years of Margaret (nee Hobbs). Loving friend and devoted father of the late Dale (Barb), Colleen (Pete) Bitzke, Debbie (Paul) Ward, Dan, Mike (Lori), Patrick (Cathy) and Kitty (Bob) Denton. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Liela Daily; siblings, Kenny, Dwaine, Glen, Robert and Lavonne. He is survived by his siblings Dorothy, Shirley, Gordan, Lornette and Dwight. Also survived by 28 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Darrell was a retiree of the Harnischfeger Corp. after 41 years of service. He was a founder of the Oak Creek Police Auxiliary in 1967 and went on to become Police and Fire Commissioner in Oak Creek in 1972 serving for 15 years. Darrell further served the Oak Creek community as an Alderman in the 5th District. He and Margaret moved their family to Oak Creek in 1950 and became members of Evangelical United Brethren Church (now Oak Creek) and sang in the church choir for 50 years. Darrell was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran serving during World War II and was a member of Post 2930 American Legion.
