"Dar"

Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026 at the age of 71 years. Loving sister of Michael (James Steuer) Gaspie, Joseph (the late Paula Winston-Gaspie) Gaspie, and Suzann (Charlie) Reiff. Dear friend of Barbara Sayas. Cherished step-mom of Juan Garcia. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and her Aunt June Adams. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Gaspie, her partner, Joyce Garcia, and her siblings Deborah Kloskey, Linda Gaspie, Mark Gaspie, and Dorothy "Dainty-Dot" Kallas.

Dar was, above all else, a fixture of energy and heart on the local courts and fields. Her absolute passion in life was officiating after-school sports at the local recreation centers, neighborhood public school playgrounds, and baseball diamonds. Rain or shine, she was out there-whistle in hand, keeping the games fair, encouraging young athletes, and bringing life to every diamond and court she stepped onto. To generations of kids and families in the community, Dar was a familiar, reassuring face who taught fairness, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.

She lived her life with that same straightforward, wholehearted dedication. Whether she was running a game on the blacktop or spending time with those closest to her, Dar had a way of showing up for people in the ways that mattered most.
