Daniel R. Calabrese

Departed this earthly life on Friday, August 25th, 2023. He was 65 years old. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. Born on May 29th, 1958 to Shirley and Joseph Calabrese, Dan lived his rambunctious young life in Bay View, WI, where he made many lifelong friendships, and an appreciation for classic rock, Lake Michigan, and Harley Davidson. His childhood was an idyllic time in his life which he recalled fondly. Dan attended Clement Avenue Public School and Bay View High School, followed by a stint in the Army, and retired after a 20 year career with the United States Postal Service. Dan was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions including magic, flying his drones, hunting, gardening, boating, cooking, riding his Harley, and most importantly, spending time with his adoring grandchildren.

Dan is survived by his children Melissa (Jay), Danny (Mandy), and Rebecca (Matt). He is forever cherished by his former spouse Jayme and their 9 grandchildren; Liryk, Josephine, Weston, Luke, Jack, Reid, Hadley, Adeline, and Jace. His memory lives on through his mother Shirley, sister Cheryl, nieces and nephews; Jenny (Paul), Kenny (Heather), Tammy (Grant), Paul, and Brian. He also leaves behind many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Dan is predeceased by his beloved father Joseph L. Calabrese; Grandparents Corrine "Nanny" Dotz, and Harvey & Isabelle Reynolds; as well as best friend Rick "Stinger" Menges. Dan's canine companions were very dear to him. His dog Buddy has stayed behind with Dan's best friend Scott Nelson, whom his children are forever thankful for. Dan now walks Muppet, Brandy, and D-Bone in Heaven.

Dan was larger than life, his shoes cannot be filled. May he rest in peace.
