Obituary

Clarence Lorenz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Lorenz, a devoted and compassionate individual who served as a volunteer Auxiliary Officer with the Milwaukee Police Department for 10 years (2008-2018). Clarence passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on March 1, 2025.

Throughout his life, Clarence was deeply committed to helping others and making his community a safer and better place while he worked both in Milwaukee Police Districts two and five. You may have seen him volunteering at the St. Patrick's Day parade, directing traffic every day during Summerfest, working National Night Out events, or attending officer graduations and merit awards ceremonies. Every December he assisted and directed taxpayers at City Hall and finished the year out, ensuring the Polar Plunge at Bradford Beach was safe.

Clarence was known for sharp sense of humor and his selfless approach to volunteering. His contributions to the department went beyond his duties, as he worked tirelessly to build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the local community.

Outside of his volunteer work, Clarence cherished his wife and best friend of 40 years, Cheryl Lorenz, who preceded him in death (2022). His love of watching Professional Wrestling was his greatest hobby.

He will be deeply missed by friends, colleagues and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Private interment at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
