Christine Marie (Schroer) Trettin
October 9, 1974 - May 14, 2021
Christine Marie (Schroer) Trettin, 46, ran into the arms of her Savior on May 14, 2021 after a valiant 15 month battle with cancer. Christine was born October 9, 1974 in Saginaw, MI to Robert and Cheryl (Rolloff) Schroer and became a child of God through Holy Baptism on October 20, 1974. She attended grade school at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Saginaw and confirmed her faith in the risen Savior on May 7, 1989. She graduated high school from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in 1993. For college, Christine graduated from Michigan State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics degree. In 1998 she took a dietetics internship in Minneapolis, MN at Fairview Health Systems and continued there with various positions until 2005. She enjoyed the Twin Cities immensely as a single person and started a Singles Ministry at Bloomington Lutheran Church called SHINE. Many Christ-centered marriages began because of Christine's faithful humble heart towards this ministry. Christine married Joel Trettin on November 12, 2005 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI and moved to Franklin, WI to start a new life together. She took a position at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee as a Business Analyst with their electronic patient record system until 2007. Christine and Joel were blessed with two beautiful children, Emilia Marie in 2007 and Lucas Joel in 2009. As the children grew, Christine felt God calling her into Ministry. In 2013, she volunteered at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Muskego, WI to be the Kids Club Coordinator. Later she transitioned part-time to the Office as the Worship Folder Coordinator and later as Communication and Database Specialist up until shortly before her passing. The relationships she developed at St Paul's within the Ministerial Team will forever be a lasting legacy of her unwavering dedication to the Lord's work through the local church. During this time she also took a part time job as a Fashion Stylist at Evereve. She believed in their mission and felt it was her way to "be a light" in the community - as well as to satisfy her passion for fashion. She was literally a tool for the Gospel to flow through her to other people. Not always in an outward public sort of way but usually in just a kind, caring love for other people - a living definition of "friendship evangelism". The hand of God was guiding her every step of the way. We do not know why the Lord has taken her from us so soon but we will trust His plan and attempt to amplify her legacy and example.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Christine is survived by her husband Joel Trettin, daughter Emilia Trettin and son Lucas Trettin. Her parents Robert and Cheryl Schroer of Saginaw, MI.
