IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine R.
Glad
February 16, 1947 – April 19, 2024
Christine R. Glad, aged 77, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024.
Chris, a vibrant spirit whose passion and dedication touched the lives of many, will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her joy in the presence of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, and the laughter and memories shared during family gatherings. She found delight in the camaraderie of her friends including a life time of memories with the Card Club and Packer Gang. She was always ready for an adventure with her friends and family.
Chris and Dale's journey started when they first met at only eight years old. They started dating at Pius XI High School and they married on May 25th 1968. Their love deepened and blossomed in their marriage for over five and a half decades.
Chris was no stranger to hard work and accomplishment. For over 40 years she enjoyed a successful career in the medical field. She was in the first graduating class for nuclear medicine technologists in the state. She worked primarily with Aurora healthcare. One of her most proud accomplishments was being a co-owner of a medical imaging company. She retired as a lead technologist in 2013 at St. Luke's. Throughout her fulfilling career she fostered lifelong relationships with many colleagues.
In addition to her professional achievements, Chris also found fulfillment in her community, serving as a drill team sergeant in her youth for the Gross-Yaksh VFW Post. She prided herself in attending and actively participating in her sons' activities including den leader and cub master. Chris enjoyed bowling with her friends and family, even appearing on "The Bowling Game". She shared her love of the outdoors during summers up North at the cabin, where the hummingbirds brought her joy.
Join us in celebrating Chris' life and the profound impact she had on those around her. Though she has departed this world, her spirit and memories will continue to brighten the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Chris is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dale; her sons, Tony (Mindy), Eric (Brittany), and Darrin (Andrea); her grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Michaels, Nick Glad, Kasie Kotewa, Elizabeth Glad, Dylan Glad, Roman Glad, Axel Glad, and Owen Glad; and her great granddaughter, Ev Michaels. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Edith Gross; her beloved sister, Linda; and her grandson, Orion.
Thank you to all of the nurses and care workers for providing their comfort and compassion.
Special thank you to all of the family and friends who provided their love and support for Chris during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, please pay an act of kindness forward.
