Obituary

The final curtain closed for Charmaine

Elizabeth DeNoyer on November 23, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Anne DeNoyer, brother Michael DeNoyer and sister Marianne DeNoyer. She is survived by her loving family, sister Joyce Plewa-Richards, brother James DeNoyer, sister-in-law Patricia, brother Daniel DeNoyer and sister-in-law Rosa. Further survived by Gary Guida, nephews Joel and John Plewa, Jesse and Jeremy Ramirez and James DeNoyer. Nieces Julie Plewa, Jennifer Kostrzewa and Annette DeNoyer. Charmaine is also survived by a bevy of cousins and a very special Goddaughter DiAnne Bickler.

Act 1- As a child Charmaine loved the arts and made them her life. Her passion of music led her to a life of singing, dancing and playing multiple instruments, the harp, guitar, clarinet and her primary love the piano. She attended Fernwood Elementary and Bay View High School where her love for theatre and performing began. After graduation she attended State Teachers in Milwaukee. She then joined the Actors Equity, the musicians union, and traveled the Midwest singing, dancing and playing the piano.

Act 2 - After years of living the arts, Charmaine went on to earn three degrees: Bachelor of Music, Masters of Music from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and finally a Masters of Arts Education at Indiana University.

Act 3 - Charmaine will best be remembered as a teacher. She spent three years in Halifax, Nova Scotia sharing her love of the arts in all of the elementary schools. She gave the children she taught sound knowledge, self confidence, ability to use their own creative ideas and beautiful experiences that were happy memories for their lifetime. She returned to Bay View High School of the Arts. She had a glorious run at Bay View High School teaching and mentoring the Students in Milwaukee. When she retired from Milwaukee Public Schools, she went on to direct a multitude of productions with the Bay View Players. Charmaine memoirs are at Bay View Historical Society for viewing.

Encore - A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 10 - 11 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park - Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Drive in Brookfield. Memorial Service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, Charmaine requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
